Yu (Gillian Valerie Chua) is a digital artist and content creator on social platforms. Born and raised in Taiwan, she moved to Canada in 2012 and currently lives and works in Regina (Saskatchewan, Canada).

 

Inspired by the growing popularity of Japanese anime culture, she grew passionate about the art style, and have working with both traditional and digital art since 2012. To explore the art style further down to a personal level, Yu's work focuses on moods, emotions, and storytelling through the concept of magic, fairytale, and nature.  As a content creator on the social platform since 2020, she aims to convey meaningful messages to the audience.  

 

Yu believes that art expresses the artist itself. It is a visualization of our imaginations and our unspoken thoughts and emotion. When words are not spoken, then it’s time to convey these feelings in creative art forms.
